TPr. Haji Hassan bin Yaakob holds a Master’s Degree in Corporate Communication from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Town and Regional Planning with Honours from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

He is a Registered Town Planner with nearly three decades of experience in urban and rural planning, sustainable development, regional development, and strategic management. Throughout his career in the public service with PLANMalaysia, also known as the Department of Town and Country Planning, he has held various leadership positions, including Director of PLANMalaysia Kelantan and Deputy Director-General (Development) of PLANMalaysia under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government.

He has led various physical development initiatives at both state and national levels, including the preparation of development plans, sustainable urban development, low-carbon development, green technology, and planning policies that support economic growth and community well-being. His extensive experience in strategic leadership, corporate communication, and development planning has enabled him to drive organisational transformation while strengthening governance and service delivery.
