17 July 2024 – The opening of the HDPE pipe factory is among the state government’s efforts to resolve the critical issue of clean and treated water supply in the state while attracting investors to boost the state economy.

Kelantan Deputy Chief Minister, Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan said, the current situation assessment of Air Kelantan Sdn Bhd (AKSB) found that among the causes of water supply problems in Kelantan are the condition of worn-out pipes and human resource efficiency that is not fully utilized.

According to him, the Kel Intaaj HDPE factory is owned by Kelantan Utilities Mubaarakan (KUM) which is also the parent company of AKSB and collaborates with a prominent company in the HDPE pipe manufacturing sector, Dura Mine Sdn Bhd.
